The NC State Wolfpack took on the UConn Huskies on August 31, 2023 in Pratt and Whitney stadium in Connecticut. This game resulted in a 24-14 victory for the Wolfpack. This was Quarterback Brennan Armstrongs first game with the Wolfpack, since transferring from University of Virginia. He threw for 155 yards and ran for 96 yards to score two touchdowns for the Pack. NC State was favored to win by 14 points. This was the season opener for both teams.
